Labor Day

Scripture tells us in Genesis that God worked for six days and rested on the seventh.  As Christians, we should see our jobs as a chance to serve God through perseverance and patience, and serve others with a Christ-like attitude.

Below are a few verses from the Bible to help you reflect on your work during Labor Day and any time of the year!

"I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.  That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil--this is the gift of God,"  ~Ecclesiastes 3:12-12
"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."  ~Proverbs 14:23
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work."  ~John 4:34
"Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank." ~Proverbs 22:29
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." ~Matthew 5:1
