Independence Day 2023

4th of July banner with the words God Bless America Happy 4th of July

The 4th of July here in the United States is typically a day filled with barbecues, fireworks, and gathering with friends and family to celebrate our independence as a nation. More importantly, it’s a time to thank God and praise Him for all the freedoms He has blessed us with.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. ~ Psalm 33:12 [KJV]

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. ~ Galatians 5:1 [NKJV]

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. ~ 1 Peter 2:16 [ESV]

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. ~ Galatians 5:13 [NLT]

Memorial Day is May 29, 2023, and is a time to honor those currently serving and who have served in the military. It’s also a day to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom in giving their lives.

Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. ~Isaiah 49: 15-16

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.~Colossians 2:8

He Has Risen!

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

8 And they remembered his words,

9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

Labor Day Prayer

Labor Day is Monday, September 5, 2022

“Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.” ~Exodus 20:8-11
