Celebrating Freedom

The 4th of July is a glorious time to celebrate our country’s freedom and independence, and, more importantly, to give thanks to God for the blessings He has granted us, both as a nation and individually. The below scriptures inspire us to be thankful for our freedom and encourage us to stand strong in our belief that Jesus Christ is the ultimate authority.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!” – Psalm 33:12
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6
“Stand firm, therefore, in the freedom by which Christ has made us free.” – Galatians 5:1
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” – Romans 13:1
