The True Reason for Our Joy

Image of a stable with animals and people surrounding the baby Jesus after his birth
Jesus Christ is the reason we celebrate this season, rejoicing in His birth and unending love for us. There’s no greater message to share than the good news of the miraculous birth of God’s precious Son, Jesus Christ!
During this special holiday, Isaiah 9:1-7 reminds us of the true reason for our joy.
The Government of the Promised Son

1 Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed,
As when at first He lightly esteemed
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
And afterward more heavily oppressed her,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
In Galilee of the Gentiles.
The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.

You have multiplied the nation
And increased its joy;
They rejoice before You
According to the joy of harvest,
As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
For You have broken the yoke of his burden
And the staff of his shoulder,
The rod of his oppressor,
As in the day of Midian.
For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle,
And garments rolled in blood,
Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.

6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving

As we gather ’round the table and celebrate this Thanksgiving with those we love, Psalm 100 reminds us of the One who is worthy of all our thanks and praise….

Psalm 100 (NLT)

A psalm of thanksgiving.

Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.[a]
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving filled with joy and blessings from our Lord Jesus Christ!

Taste and See that the LORD is good. Psalm 34:8

Come to Me, all you who labor

Labor Day is Monday, September 1, 2025; our national holiday dedicated to celebrating the American workers who contribute to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our great nation.
Thank you for all you do, day in and day out, and we pray that God will bless you and the work of your hands.
Take a moment to reflect on the following scriptures as you rest in the Lord this Labor Day weekend:

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; ~Colossians 3:23 [KJV]

Commit thy works unto Jehovah, And thy purposes shall be established. ~Proverbs 16:3 [ASV]

Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. ~Psalm 127:1 [NIV]

You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. ~Psalm 128:2 [ESV]

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ~Matthew 11:28 [NKJV]

Celebrating Freedom

4th of July banner with the words God Bless America Happy 4th of JulyThe 4th of July is a glorious time to celebrate our country’s freedom and independence, and, more importantly, to give thanks to God for the blessings He has granted us, both as a nation and individually. The below scriptures inspire us to be thankful for our freedom and encourage us to stand strong in our belief that Jesus Christ is the ultimate authority.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!” – Psalm 33:12

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6

“Stand firm, therefore, in the freedom by which Christ has made us free.” – Galatians 5:1

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” – Romans 13:1
